Your MLM2PRO talks to this PC over Bluetooth through springbok. You do not need the phone or tablet while you play, but Rapsodo asks you to approve the PC in its app once a day.
What Rapsodo requires
- A Rapsodo Premium membership. Rapsodo requires it for simulator play with other software.
- Approval in the Rapsodo app every 24 hours. That is Rapsodo's rule, not ours.
Follow these steps
In the PuttBay app, these steps are interactive: the app performs the checks for you and provides the named buttons. Here they are plain instructions you can read on any device.
- 01
Get the free springbok app
The MLM2PRO needs springbok, a free app made by the golf-sim community, not by PuttBay or Rapsodo. On the release page, download the zip under **Assets**. Right-click the zip, choose **Extract All**, and put the folder in Downloads or on your Desktop. Then come back to PuttBay and choose **Look again**. Windows may ask you to confirm the community app before opening it. PuttBay opens the public release page in your browser; it never downloads or installs springbok.
In-app button: Open the springbok release page.
- 02
Charge and switch on the MLM2PRO
Stand it in its usual spot. Wait for the steady red light. PuttBay starts springbok after GSPro connects. If springbok cannot find the device, the Launch monitor tile tells you to turn it on before trying again.
- 03
Approve this PC on your phone
Do this on your phone
Open the Rapsodo app, go to Play, choose third party apps, and approve this PC. Choose **I've done it** here afterward. Rapsodo approval expires every 24 hours. PuttBay restarts springbok and waits until it confirms the device is ready.
Automatic check: PuttBay checks that the launch monitor authorization is current.
In-app button: I've done it.
- 04
Turn off Bluetooth on your phone
Do this on your phone
If the phone is still connected, it can keep the MLM2PRO from connecting to this PC.
- 05
Connect from this PC
PuttBay checks which launch monitor setup your GSPro license uses and shows you the one next step. The first connection can take about 30 seconds.
Automatic check: PuttBay checks that the launch monitor route is connected.
In-app button: Scan for the launch monitor.
- 06
Remove an old Windows pairing if needed
Do this in Windows
In Windows Settings, under Bluetooth and devices, remove anything called MLM2 or BlueZ, then try again.
- 07
Check your putting choice
PuttBay tells you whether camera putting is available with your GSPro setup. If it is not, use GSPro's automatic putting.
If GSPro Connect cannot find the MLM2PRO
Work down this list. Most of the time it is the first item.
- Your phone is still connected. Turn Bluetooth off on the phone, then check again.
- The light is not steady red. Wake the device and wait.
- An old pairing is stuck. In Windows Settings, remove MLM2 or BlueZ, then check again.
- The signal is weak. Put a USB Bluetooth adapter on an extension cable near the MLM2PRO.
If springbok cannot find the MLM2PRO
- Approve this PC again in the Rapsodo app. Approval expires every 24 hours.
- Turn Bluetooth off on the phone or tablet. It may still be holding the MLM2PRO.
- Turn on the MLM2PRO and wait for the steady red light.
- Wait while PuttBay keeps looking. You can choose Reconnect launch monitor to try immediately.
Update springbok after repeated drop-outs
Version 1.04.51 fixes Bluetooth drop-outs that can close springbok. If the Launch monitor tile suggests this update, download it yourself from the app maker's release page. PuttBay never downloads or installs it.
Before replacing the old version:
- Close springbok.
- Keep a copy of its appdata folder and config.ini file.
- Put that folder and file into the new version's folder.
- Press Start GSPro in PuttBay and wait for Launch monitor ready before your next shot.
What the Launch monitor tile means
- Your Rapsodo approval has expired. Approve this PC in the Rapsodo app (Play > 3rd Party Apps), then choose I've done it.
- springbok could not find your MLM2PRO. Turn it on and wait for the steady red light.
- Your MLM2PRO disconnected from springbok. Wake it; PuttBay keeps looking.
- springbok lost its connection to GSPro. PuttBay starts springbok again.
- The MLM2PRO went to sleep. Press its button until the light is steady red. PuttBay waits for the ready signal.
- springbok reported something PuttBay does not recognize. Open the connection screen for more details.
- Reconnect launch monitor tries the connection again now.
- Stop launch monitor asks springbok to close. If it stays open, close it there.
- Another golf connection is open. Keep only the one set up in PuttBay. Choose Choose connection to check which connection PuttBay is using. The first one stays connected until you choose.
- springbok accepted the last shot. springbok received the shot and is ready for the next one.
- GSPro accepted the latest launch monitor shot. The connection worked and GSPro confirmed the shot.
- GSPro did not accept this shot. Hit it again. The connection worked. Set up for the next shot and try again.
Putting with the MLM2PRO
The MLM2PRO does not read putts. PuttBay checks your GSPro license and tells you which choice works:
- When PuttBay can send launch monitor shots to GSPro, camera putting can read your real stroke.
- When GSPro Connect must handle the MLM2PRO itself, use GSPro's automatic putting.
How PuttBay works with your MLM2PRO
PuttBay finds springbok already installed on this PC. It never downloads it. While they work together, PuttBay changes two springbok settings: where it sends shots, and its own camera putting (off). PuttBay keeps a copy of both old values so the two apps never share your putting camera. The first time, choose Start launch monitor. After that, Start GSPro opens it automatically after GSPro connects.
The tile keeps springbok and the MLM2PRO device separate. It says the device is ready only after springbok confirms it. If springbok is running but the MLM2PRO is off, disconnected, or quiet, PuttBay says what to check next.
Before removing PuttBay, open Launch monitor setup and press Put springbok back as it was. That restores both springbok settings.
