Play with friends

Give guests the projector view, the live controller guide, and named party-game turns.

Instructions for PuttBay 0.9 beta

Play with friends keeps setup controls out of the way and puts the useful shot state on the projector. It lasts for this PuttBay run only. Your normal screen and ball-view position return when you turn it off.

Turn it on or off

  • On Home, choose Friends are over. Choose End Friends mode to return to your usual Home screen.
  • From a controller, press View + Menu together. The same pair ends Play with friends.
  • PuttBay opens the projector ball view automatically. It shows ball ready, putt sent, a shot that was not read, or the launch monitor's current state. During a party game it also calls the current player by name.

Show the controller guide

Press View while friends are playing, or choose Show controller guide on Home. The guide comes from your active PuttBay button map, including a JoyToKey map you imported and the club-up/down swap. Press View again to hide it.

Start a party game

  1. Choose Party games. If a GSPro round is running, PuttBay asks before it stops sending that round's shots.
  2. Choose two to four players. Player 1 through Player 4 are ready by default, and names are optional.
  3. For each player choose Left-handed or Right-handed, a ball color, and a gimme distance.
  4. Choose Derby, H-O-R-S-E, 21, or a practice round. The projector says who is up as turns change.

Player names and choices stay on this PC. They are used only for the local practice green; GSPro does not give PuttBay a player's name.

Leave the green

Open Pause and choose Close green and return to PuttBay. PuttBay returns to your Home screen.
