GSPro has no controller support of its own. PuttBay turns gamepad or keypad presses into GSPro shortcuts, so you can stay on the mat.
Follow these steps
In the PuttBay app, these steps are interactive: the app performs the checks for you and provides the named buttons. Here they are plain instructions you can read on any device.
- 01
Connect your controller
Plug it in or pair it, then press any button on it.
Automatic check: PuttBay checks that the controller is connected and responding.
In-app button: Test the controller.
- 02
Try it
Press a button and watch the Controller tile. It names the action it just sent, so you can see that the button does what you expect.
In-app button: Test the controller.
- 03
Point it at GSPro
Keys only go to GSPro. If another window is in front, PuttBay pauses, so a stray press never lands in another app.
Automatic check: PuttBay checks that controller keys can go safely to GSPro.
What the buttons do
Open Your button map for the live list, which always matches your current setup.
Coming from JoyToKey
You can bring your JoyToKey button map across. Choose JoyToKey file in controller setup. PuttBay keeps the buttons it understands and tells you what needs attention. You can then close JoyToKey.
Things people ask for, that PuttBay fixes
- Aim that skips. PuttBay holds each aim press long enough for GSPro to see every one, and repeats smoothly while you hold the stick.
- Clubs the wrong way round. If up and down feel backwards, open controller setup and turn on Swap club up / down.
- Menus needing a mouse. Turn on mouse mode to move the pointer with the right stick.
- Stuck keys. If the controller disconnects or you close PuttBay, every key is released.
